We are pleased to launch the GRANDE project, bringing together leading research organizations, industrial partners, and sustainability experts to advance the next generation of steel powder production. Through innovative gas atomization technologies, advanced nozzle design, and industrial validation, GRANDE will improve process efficiency, reduce waste and energy consumption, and strengthen the competitiveness of the European steel industry.

During the project, partners will develop and optimize novel gas atomization nozzle designs, validate predictive modelling tools through advanced flow diagnostics, and demonstrate the technology under industrially relevant conditions. Key milestones include the completion of the nozzle design methodology, pilot-scale validation of optimized atomization systems, assessment of environmental and economic benefits, and the delivery of a roadmap for industrial adoption. Together, these achievements will pave the way for a more resource-efficient, sustainable, and low-carbon steel powder production value chain.
